In his column in the latest issue of Tidningen Energi (p. 37), Mikael Aamisepp, director of Investment at High Coast Invest, addresses why we must ease the process for establishing data centers in northern Sweden.
– With a growing IT-sector that is already consuming 7% of global electricity, we need more data centers running on green electricity to be able to counter climate change, Mikael Aamisepp comments his column. As the awareness of climate change increases, more IT companies want to establish data centers in places where they can run their servers on green power. This is something we have plenty of in northern Sweden. However, the establishment processes needs to be quicker in order for us to compete for the establishments with other countries and regions. This is what I am stressing in my column.
